RESULTS OF LSCA 2001 QUESTIONNAIRE Designed by Brian E. Brewton
Conducted during LSCA State Championship (Aug. 17-19, 2001)
This data will be used by the incoming officers, delegates and range
owners to plan for future events to better serve our LSCA members.
Please note that 40 members participated in the
questionnaire. Not
all members answered all the questions, therefore the number of responses
for
one question may not be the same as another question. [Brian Brewton]

Do entry fees have
a deciding factor if you are willing to travel?
Yes = 48%
No = 52%
If yes, what is your max. fee per 100 targets?
a fee less than $60 = 12
a fee more than $60 = 7
[note: under normal conditions, it
takes 40 shooters for a range to break even with a $55.00
entry fee (excluding NSCA/LSCA fees). What this means is, no
return for time and effort.
How far will you
travel to an LSCA class tournament?
80% are willing to
travel 200 miles and more.
Would you attend an
LSCA ...
5-Stand only tournament? 70%=Yes; 30%=No
Small Gauge only tournament? 70%=Yes; 30%=No
FITASC only tournament? 69%=Yes; 31%=No
Would you prefer...
All scores posted on Internet? 32=Yes; 1=No
Mail all results? 24=Yes; 6=No
Would you object to
your membership fee structure being changed from a flat fee
structure ($10 + $1 per hundred) to a variable fee of $3 per hundred
targets only.
46%=Yes; 52%=No
The objective is to simplify membership requirements and
streamline record keeping. The only requirement to be an LSCA
member would be a member of the NSCA.
Note: Presently there are only 137 members out of
265 NSCA members and as of May 1, only 50,225 registered targets
were shot by LSCA members.
Projected annual revenue under present structure
($1,370.00 membership).
Annualized target 86100 @ $1.00 = $861.00
Total $2,231.00
Projected annual revenue under new structure basically a revenue
neutral proposal $2583.00.
Brian thought other state associations would find the results of this
survey interesting and gave ShootersPages.com the data for publication.
Thank you, Brian! [Cindy Barton]
