The Alaska Shooting Stars is a
non-profit athletic program that provides the opportunity for young men
and women, ages 11 to 18, to compete in the discipline of Sporting Clays
on a national basis. It is, at this point, the only program of its kind
in the country.
The Alaska's Shooting Stars are a
Jr. Clays Team that currently has 2 All American sub-juniors & one Junior
All State member. They have traveled to major shoots all over the United
States with great success. The girls team is just getting started
this year & they look forward to attending major shoots and want to help
increase the interest of sporting clays in other young girls.
Since 2000, the team has traveled
to major competitions, both in Alaska and throughout the country, where
they have won numerous awards and nationwide recognition.

Until this year, all of the
competitors have been young men. This year, we have four young ladies and
10 boys who are ready to begin and continue competing on a national
level. Competing in one of these major tournaments costs about $1500.00
per shooter for travel, ammunition, accommodations and tournament fees.
We are currently soliciting financial support to offset the cost of some
of these expenses. Our goal is to raise about 50% of this amount for each
shooter. The team members and their families will be responsible for the
other 50%.
This is a great opportunity to help
support kids in the shooting sports. ANY financial support that you can
provide will be greatly appreciated. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
We would be happy to provide you
with a schedule of the shoots that we plan to attend this year as soon as
it becomes available. |
