Ringo is now a one year old Llewellin Setter. Awesome bird dog! He was
pointing as a pup the day we got him home and has proven to be a great
hunter in the field. The puppy picture is day one of
training in March of 2006. The point is six months later in September. And
the pheasant is his first bird in November. All this at just 10 months
old! |

(owned by Mike Finch) Belle is a four-year-old Brittany Spaniel out of
Count Kennels in Las Cuces, NM. We originally had plans to hunt her in
West Texas, but due to a job transfer from Midland to Houston, all that
has changed. Most of our hunting takes place near Columbus for quail and
pheasant. She's pictured here with Blake, a senior at Clements, who is
playing varsity hockey and is headed for Texas Tech in the fall.
8/24/07 Note: Sadly, Belle died of liver disease on 8/18/07. Our
condolences to the Finch family. |

Three weeks ago, I had to put our 17 year old Chihuahua to sleep, which
was one of the hardest things to do to your longtime friend. Of course
we felt nothing could take her place.
Our dear friends decided to help heal our grief. P-Nut Krenek and Janet
Russell, showed up unannounced with Buddy, a 5 week old Weimer, and
though we will not forget our girl Taffy... Buddy has sure helped heal
our broken hearts... and quite frankly totally stolen our hearts.

My friends at Westside Sporting Grounds know
my lab, Haley. Big George Rice will tell anyone who asks that all of
Haley's bad habits came from her two-legged dummy owner/trainer, not her
inability. Because I made many mistakes in training her myself, she's far
from a stylish retriever, but her heart and desire are unbelievable, and
she find's 'em when I'm lucky enough to splash 'em! I consider myself
lucky to have such a good friend and hunting buddy.

We
have 2 Brittanys, Freckles (the elder) and Bella (the baby).
Great natural hunters. Without any training, they hold point, honor each other's points,
and retrieve ...almost all the way back! Guess they figure within 5 feet
is close enough. After all, they want to get back to hunting! Very sweet breed. Our most recent hunt resulted in a
great photo. 2nd is zoomed in:
