Ice Breaker Open -
January 19th, 2003
46 Registered Shooters in Attendance
Thanks to all the wonderful shooters who
participated in the tournament. Although scores were lower than normal
expectations would dictate, numerous shooters commented that the target
presentations were of championship caliber. Make no mistake, these scores
were earned the hard way!!
Many shooters also admitted that they
were a little rusty from the long layoff since Nationals. Shooting this
time of year does present some different challenges with sun angle so low
in the sky which puts many targets against brush backgrounds and makes for
some unexpected optical illusions with the strange light angles.
Interestingly no one seemed to mind the difficulty level as many
competitors are now looking for greater challenges to improve their skills
in anticipation of enhancing their performances in the upcoming Texas
Challenge tournament series.
Our next tournament will be the Spring
Open on March 1st. We promise to have a "slightly"
softer course for the next tournament to help encourage the new shooters
who are learning the competitive ropes.
Any shooter wishing to receive an Email
copy of the Cedar Ridge Range tournament results/announcements should
forward their Email address requesting addition to the mail list to email.
