There are several folks who deserve a big thank you for this shoot's success: Butch Roberson and Toby Barton at R&R Trap Sales. Butch put together a battue game for us and we thank him for the thought. Toby came out and helped us with the machines. If you need professional trap help these folks are the ones for you. Jeff Foster for jumping in and helping at the 5-Stand. Also the several who put birds in machines to help out. Lastly, but not least, is Vance Barnes for setting such a good course.

We did much better in several areas and have some improving to do in others. The main that Vance set was awesome. We had very few problems with machines and the wind did not play a factor today.

I would like to mention that the rabbit on Station 10 was measured with a laser at 32-35 yards to where the rabbit crossed the road. I know that this seems impossible but the view from the bottom looking up seems to confirm this. My sister is the cook for our shoots and in my unbiased opinion, cooked a fantastic meal. I hope you all were able to get your fill. Who knows what she will have on the grill next time.

The down side of the shoot was the 5-Stand. When we set the targets it looked much different than when you shot it. Some of the pairs were overly difficult and some of the birds just were not visible soon enough. On top of that we had several machine problems. It was not our goal to make this course so difficult. Late in the day #5 went down completely. We will be adjusting the scores to reflect hits for every target that was a #5 on all shooters scores. With all the problems we are offering to refund 5-Stand entry fees to anyone who requests it. Please contact me by e-mail at redrose@shootingandhunting.net or by phone at 830-459-9215. In an effort to make 5-Stand flow more quickly we are taking the suggestion several gave of having two 25 bird courses. This should make the flow better.

In response to popular demand the course will be in place for a few weeks on Sunday afternoons for your pleasure.
